Hastings’ office was on the second floor, accessed by a back alley staircase.
We crept down the alley. The back door was locked.
“I’m going to boost you through the transom window,” I whispered. “Unlatch the door from inside. If you hear anyone, freeze.”
I hoisted him up. He disappeared into the darkness.
